Fundraising Ideas from A - Z !
A
- Art Sales - have preschool and elementary students produce great art and
have a show. Parents and friends buy back their budding artists'
masterpieces.
- Auction off a prime parking space at work.
- Auction off a half or whole day off from work.
B
- Baby-sitter Service - baby-sitters are always a commodity.
- Barbeque Lunches - prepare and sell barbeque lunches.
- Block Party - have a neighborhood block party - sell food and charge
admission
C
- Car Wash during the business day for customers and employees alike.
- Craft Fairs - many teams take advantage by having a craft table/drawings
at these festivals.
- Change jar - keep a change jar in high traffic areas.
D
- Drawings for donated items from local business (dinner for 2, movie
tickets, etc.).
- Dime-A-Dance (at event) - provide music at your campsite and other people
can pay to dance with your team members.
- Duck Race - an old American Cancer Society fund-raiser. Call ACS for
details.
E
- Errand Service - never have time? - run an errand service.
F
- Flowers and Plants - sell corsages, extra house plants or bouquets from
your garden.
- Fry Day Friday - about six weeks before the Relay, ask local fast food
restaurants to donate a dime for every order of fries sold on a Friday.

- Garage Sale - gather up all that "stuff" and have a sale!
- Gift Wrap - Mother's Day is an ideal time for teams to offer a gift wrap
booth.
H
- "Hot Dog for Cancer" - principal at an elementary school agrees
that if ALL the teachers raise $100 each, he/she would dress up like a hot
dog and let the students squirt ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and relish on
him/her.
J
- Jail and Bail - an old American Cancer Society fund-raiser. For a donation
employees can be arrested and for an additional donation, can post their own
bail OR employees have a bounty placed on their head, are arrested, and are
not set free until the entire bounty is raised ($100+ per inmate).
K
- Kinder Tent (at the event) - offer to baby-sit and entertain the tots for
a fee.
L
- Lawn Service - while you are mowing your lawn, mow someone else's too.
- Luminaries - what a great GIFT during the holidays (Christmas, Easter,
Mother's Day, etc.).
M
- Matching Funds - ask your CEO/President to match the total raised by your
team or to be the leading donor for your team. (In order for it to count
toward incentives, you must turn in written confirmation PRIOR to the
event.)
P
- Pancake Breakfasts.
- Pies - find which fruit is in season, make and sell your delicious pies.
- Pot Luck Lunches - at the workplace - name every Wednesday "Relay For
Life Pot Luck Day" - team members take turns preparing foods, salads,
dessert, etc. and offer to employees at a set price or donation.
Q
- Quilts - sell quilt squares made by the employees themselves. The squares
can be sold in honor and in memory of people with cancer, squares 4" x
4" for $5, 8" x 8" for $15, and 12" x 12" for $25.

- Romance - cater a romantic dinner for two.
S
- Sports Tournaments - organize teams for bowling, hockey, basketball, and
soccer tournaments.
- Shutter Bug Mania - into photography? Take candid shots around the
community, school, etc. and sell to the subjects of your pictures; take
photos at a friends wedding.
T
- Tupperware Party - donate the profits from a Tupperware party.
- Turkey Subs - encourage a sub/pizza shop to donate a set amount ($.50)
from each cold turkey sub sold to benefit your Relay For Life team.
V
- Vending Machines - coordinate with your vendor to add 5 cents to the cost
of a snack or soft drink prior to the Relay For Life, with the extra nickel
going to your team total.
